Anyone here have one, or have you tried one? More and more publishing houses are moving toward email submissions, which are reviewed on Kindles (I guess there
are other kinds, too, but I know they're using Kindles). And most books, published in traditional print format, will also be available for download.

Never even heard of it.

I spend too much time in front of the Computer, I desperately need time away from it. Except for an English-German dictionary and an English thesaurus and the
occasional online research, I want real books. Reading script on screen is so hard on the eyes. Besides, there's nothing more cozy than snuggling down on
the couch with a blanket, a book, and hot tea.
P.S. I can't even copy-edit my own writing properly on screen, I need multiple print-outs.

I totally agree with Anja. I spend 10 to 12 hours every day glued to the computer and when I want to relax, I don't want to have to look at just another
computer screen. I want to lay back on my couch or in bed and just relax with a good paper book. I want to rest my eyes, not strain them any more by staring at
another computer screen.
But that being said, the Kindle is probably the media of the future. If that's the way books are going to be sold, then as writers, we need to adapt to the new medium -- but I'm not sure what that means.

I also love the feel of paper, and the smell of ink. While I'm sure they're the wave of the future (think how much cheaper to produce), I'll stick
to books. That said, S & S is producing my books in print first. Kindle downloads come later. I think they cost around $10, so are closer to paperback
price point. However, I get 15% royalties from them, so for the author, I think it works out pretty good.

I want to actually see one but I just can't imagine curling up to that at night to read. I want a real book. I know that my publisher will offer a Kindle
version of my book. I've never talked to anyone who has actually used one though. I also said at one time, "I'm just not interested in the
internet." @@ so who knows?

If I get a hand held device, a pocket PC as it were, it will be something more multi-functional like an iPhone. I already carry an ipod and a phone everywhere
I go. I want to consolidate those already. I think more women will buy them than men, they have purses to carry them in.

I think it should cost less than $360 or at least come with a bigger screen and more memory. I'm not opposed to e-readers but have yet to find one I really
like.
